A high percentage of Medway youth are learning to manage their mental health concerns, and most are supported by a parent or caregiver. Those caring for children with mental health concerns often feel overwhelmed with figuring out how to best support their loved ones while finding time for self-care. Paula LeBlanc, Family Partner at You Inc., will be facilitating a monthly group aimed at supporting caregivers of children with mental health concerns and creating peer connections. The first meeting will occur at the Medway Public Library located at 26 High Street on September 28 at 6:30 PM. This Friday, MHS Project 351 Ambassadors will be leading a fundraiser and a gratitude card-making station in remembrance of the events of 9/11. A table will be set up in the main lobby of the high school in the morning.
Project 351 is a state-wide organization that energizes Massachusetts youth to mobilize a movement of positive social change. Annually, they unite in support of the Massachusetts Military Heroes Fund (MMHF) to bring comfort to local soldiers deployed abroad, veterans experiencing homelessness, families of 9.11 and the Massachusetts Fallen Heroes lost because of military combat since 2001. As they serve, they pay tribute and offer loving remembrance to the 206 Massachusetts residents who lost their lives on 9.11, and more than 370 local Fallen Heroes who have died since 2001 due to military combat.
Students and families can donate to sponsor care packages for receipts of MMHF’s service online via the link below.
