School Counseling Staff, Services & Programming

The School Counseling Office at Medway High School is committed to providing service and programming that addresses goals in academic, career, and personal/social development for all students through counseling curriculum, individual student planning, responsive services and systems support. We encourage and facilitate shared collaborative effort and responsibility between counselors, parents, teachers, administrators and the community with common goals of equity, access, academic success and social/emotional wellness. The school counseling staff is committed to ensuring that counseling services and counseling materials are free from bias and stereotypes on the basis of race, color, sex, gender identity, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, disability, and homelessness.

The office is staffed by four school counselors, an adjustment counselors, a school psychologist and a secretary with oversight by the Dean of Student Services. The Bridge to Resilient Youth In Transition Program for students returning from prolonged absences due to medical or psychiatric reasons is staffed by a clinical coordinator, and our LINKS, our emotional support program for students with emotional disabilities is staffed by a social worker. Staff extensions are listed below.

As we try to first address student and staff needs throughout the school day, phone calls and emails may not be returned until later in the day. In order to allow us to provide effective and attentive service, parents who wish to meet with a member of the school counseling staff are encouraged to call Mrs. Christine Henken, our school counseling secretary at extension 5018, to schedule an appointment, or send an email to the assigned counseling staff member.  Students may schedule appointments through Mrs. Henken during the school day.
